Camberwell Space Projects presents a solo exhibition of new work by Queenie Clarke, a 2015 graduate of BA Drawing at Camberwell College of Arts and winner of the 2015 Vanguard Prize Studio Award.

Clarke’s work shifts between architectural innovation, movement and interaction between viewer and sculpture. For this exhibition, Clarke has made a work that responds to the architecture of the studio she has been working in over the past year, transforming it to create possibilities for the viewer to engage physically with both the space and the work. This work is complemented by a series of working drawings and a site specific text work, visible from Peckham Road.

The exhibition is accompanied by a new publication by Camberwell Press, and a special event on the 29 September will see Clarke give a tour of her exhibition and studio, with an opportunity to see her work, ‘Extend and Stretch’.

The Vanguard Studio Award launched in 2010 and is open to current graduates and recent alumni of Camberwell College of Arts. The winner is offered a year-long, free studio residence at Vanguard Court, along with ongoing mentoring and support from Camberwell College of Arts to help them develop their work and career.
