Join CoolTan Arts Largactyl Shuffle for our Mudlarking Walk, a fun guided cultural walk for mental and physical wellbeing.

Meet at Oxo Tower (back & lift entrance on Bargehouse St. SE1 9PH). Meet to register at 10.15am, and the walk will begin at 10.30am.

Try your hand at Mudlarking – along the banks of the River Thames, and learn more about the history of beachcombing. From the 18th to the 20th century Mudlarking was a recognised profession, while today people enjoy it more as a pastime and great way to find out about London’s stories. We’ll go paddling, have a picnic and you might just discover buried treasure!

About the Largactyl Shuffle:
The Largactyl Shuffle has been running since 2006 and is named after the oldest anti-psychotic drug, Largactyl, that can have extreme physical side effects including a distinctive shambolic gait, or ‘shuffling’. The walks are researched and led by our Largactyl Shuffle volunteer group who meet weekly to plan and research.

Cost: Free / voluntary donation
Going on the walk: The walk leaders wear orange high-viz vests and rucksacks. The full walk is about 3 miles and will last approximately 4 hours. Please wear comfortable shoes and bring your own water.

Largactyl Shuffle walks are suitable for all levels of walking and are accessible to wheelchair users and people with disabilities. You can join us for whatever tickles your fancy feet, whether it is half a mile, one mile or the full distance!!
