London: 1757. Arguments follow the death of Ernest Donne, a wealthy Wharfinger, as his three children bicker over their portions of the estate. In a patriarchy where etiquette reigns, the sole male heir should receive his father’s business in accordance with comme il faut. Those gathered at the airing of Ernest’s will are however stunned to learn that Cotton Wharf, and control of its warehouses, will instead pass to Charlotte, the eldest daughter…

Caught in a time of immorality, keeping company with murderers, liars and thieves, can Charlotte survive long enough to take revenge on those who would see her dead simply for being a woman surpassing her station? In a city rife with danger and degenerates, can she stay pure engaging the corrupt or will each encounter change her further from her former self?
Once transformed, can a butterfly go back?

Animus is a new musical commissioned by The MTA from The Clockmaker’s Daughter writers Webborn and Finn. Come and meet our soon to be graduating year, as they step up to the spotlight and go solo without our 2nd years. Directed by Christian Durham, Choreographed by Helen Rymer, and MD’ed’ by the writer himself, Michael Webborn. Book early, remember that their first show sold out very quickly!
