One of Taiwanese artist Ting-Tong Chang’s inspirations, 'Mechanical Marvels: Clockwork Dreams', presented by Professor Simon Schaffer, charts the amazing and untold story of automata – beginning with extraordinary clockwork machines designed hundreds of years ago to mimic and recreate life.

The Daily Telegraph’s Ceri Radford gave the documentary five stars, calling it: “a beautifully made and consistently fascinating account of how clockwork machines changed our relationship with technology.” She continues: “this documentary was a precisely calibrated treat.”

An exhibition of Chang's latest works, P’eng’s Journey to the Southern Darkness (南冥有鳥, 其名為鵬), will be on display at Asia House from 22 August until 2 September 2016.
