cueB Gallery is very proud to present “Marked”, a new exhibition by Aileen Kelly.
Aileen Kelly is a visual artist from Ireland. Her work is greatly influenced by the material outcome of the making process. She moves between two and three dimensions, making sculptures or ' three dimensional drawings' as she calls them (made in her favoured materials of wood and fabric), to drawings such as those presented in this exhibition. These new works are in essence ‘reflections’ or ‘solid’ representations of temporal sculptures and installations. They are an attempt by Kelly to remind herself and the audience of the need to secure the temporary object in a solid form.
For Kelly, while it is important to read these works as elements or scans of the past, they are also works in their own right. They could be the conclusion of a process or maybe they are a bridge between what has been and what has yet to be.
