Crime. Punishment. Corruption…

This Halloween, delve into the Victorian underworld at our very special Museums at Night event!

Using original material from our records, discover the true stories behind some of the most high-profile Victorian criminal cases – such as Jack the Ripper, the Spanish swindle, the trial and imprisonment of Oscar Wilde and Murder at Road Hill House (inspiration behind bestselling book The Suspicions of Mr Whicher) - as well as the evolving roles of prison and punishment across the 19th century. Come with us on a journey into the corrupt and sometimes gruesome underbelly of Victorian Britain.
