Films fans wanting to see Titanic, Top Gun and Jaws on the big screen once more will have the chance this September, as a range of classics are returning to London’s BFI IMAX.

Inspired by the Prop Store Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction taking place on September 27th, the BFI IMAX, proudly presented by ODEON, will be playing a range of top films that showcase some of the original film and TV props set to go under the hammer.

These include Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy – with Christian Bale’s Bat Suit from The Dark Knight Rises due to fetch up to £60k – and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, with a TIE Pilot Helmet from Star Wars: A New Hope set to sell for up to £70k later that month.

Other top titles showing include Ridley Scott’s epic Gladiator, action classic Die Hard and an all-nighter triple bill of Alien, Aliens and Predator for an ultimate Saturday night of suspense.

For true cine-philes, many of the returning films can also be viewed in rare and eye-popping formats – including the classic Titanic in IMAX 3D, as well as Interstellar in 15/70mm IMAX.

A free exhibition of top items being sold at the auction – of which more than 500 items are to be auctioned for more than £1.5m – will be open to guests in the cinema foyer.

Fans pre-booking their tickets via ODEON.co.uk will be in with a chance to instantly win prizes including original props such as Batcave Hanging Bats and Titanic Passenger Lists from Prop Store – each worth £295 – as well as other items such as posters and ODEON guest passes*.

Chris Tayler, General Manager at the BFI IMAX, said: “We pride ourselves in bringing the biggest and best entertainment to our guests. This September, fans who visit our cinema will have the chance to get up and close and personal with some of their favourite films like never before, and possibly even walk away with their own little piece of cinema history!”

Auction items will be on display at a free exhibition open to the public at the BFI IMAX, Waterloo, London, England SE1 8XR from 10.00 to 21.30, 14th – 27th September 2016.

Prop Store’s Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction, in partnership with the BFI IMAX proudly presented by ODEON, will take place at the BFI IMAX Waterloo (1 Charlie Chaplin Walk, London SE1 8XR) on Tuesday September 27th from 12.00.
