Pimlico Road has risen to become one of London's most important and established design districts for interior design, art, antiques and fine furniture. Nearby, Elizabeth Street is home to a variety of independent design retailers, including world renowned fashion houses and artisan makers.

During the London Design Festival 2016, both Pimlico Road and Elizabeth Street will be celebrating their design legacies and futures by showcasing their retailers' expertise in a captivating and educational week long programme.

With a list of experts, including retailers specialising in interiors, antiques and textiles, to the creative studios of internationally renowned architects and fashion designers, the Designed in SW1 programme will offer insight into design in Belgravia.

Highlights include:
‘Simply Chairs’ at Rose Uniacke, Pimlico Road – a week-long celebration of chairs including a talk by Michael Krzyzanowski, an expert of Danish mid-century furniture, on Friday 23 September

‘Kitchen evolution’ at LINLEY, Pimlico Road – an acclaimed panel of design and interiors experts including designers at LINLEY, David Dewing, Director of the Geffrye Museum, and Lionel Real de Azúa, co-founder of architectural practice Red Deer, who will discuss the role of the kitchen and its position in the British household, on Tuesday 20 September

‘Stimulating senses – 300 years of Floris perfumery and advertising’ at Floris, Ebury Street – a workshop for the public to learn the history of England’s oldest perfume retailer, on Monday 19 September

‘Poggenpohl – future kitchens’ at Poggenpohl, Pimlico Road – a demonstration of technology and kitchen gadgets in the digital world on Tuesday 20 and Wednesday 21 September

‘English interiors style clinic’ at Jane Churchill, Pimlico Road – an opportunity to delve into the quintessential English interior styles on Saturday 24 September

‘Curios and Curiouser – confessions of Pimlico Road design connoisseurs’ – a guided tour of Designed in SW1 led by Fox & Squirrel, an award winning guided walk company on Saturday 17 and Thursday 22 September
