For their September 2016 Material Movement show, Carousel Textile Artists have produced a collection of thought-provoking, quirky and beautifully made pieces that hang, dangle and flow.

Look out, in particular, for individual artists’ dynamic responses to Tate Modern’s 2016 Alexander Calder exhibition. And enjoy the sense of movement that shines through all the artfully dyed, knitted, embroidered, felted, printed and manipulated textiles in the show.

Carousel is a group of textile artists living and working in Greater London, who exhibit together regularly. Among them are the former Head of Textiles of Morley College, South London, and many current and former students of the College. As well as creating art pieces, members make quality practical products for sale and offer education through workshops and talks.

Previous exhibitions include Tunnel Visions (July 2015) and Blue Rider centenary (October 2011) at the Barbican Library.
