Jazz at Mycenae

Outstanding live music from the Phil Mead Trio with special guest Duncan Lamont Jnr. As a woodwind player, Duncan has worked extensively in the West End for the last thirty years, most recently in the orchestra for “Guys and Dolls” at the Phoenix Theatre with Hollywood star, Rebel Wilson. He has backed many well known singers including Amy Winehouse, Natalie Cole, Barry White and Johnny Mathis. He also worked for many years as part of Dame Shirley Bassey’s orchestra.

Duncan’s TV and film credits include “Iris”, “Only Fools and Horses” and “Eastenders” (BBC1), “Perfect World” (BBC 2), “Bob Martin” (ITV) and “Powers” (CBBC) and “Thomas The Tank Engine”.
He recorded several series of Radio 2’s “Live from the Stables” with Sir John Dankworth’s big band. He has played with many ensembles including NYJO, BBC Big Band, Mike Westbrook and not forgetting the BBC Concert Orchestra doubling on baritone sax and kazoo!

As an arranger, Duncan has written for “Over Here” (BBC 1), The Hong Kong Philharmonic’s handover ceremony in 1997 and two series of BBC 1’s popular show “Strictly Come Dancing”. He has provided arrangements for many singers, including Spandau Ballet’s Tony Hadley, Darius Campbell and Andy Abraham.
