Goose Island - LDN Block Party

Critically acclaimed Indie rock band Everything Everything to headline one-day party
LONDON, (August, 2016) – Chicago brewer Goose Island® will be bringing a slice of Chicago life to London this September as it hosts the first ever London leg of its legendary Block Party, held over the same weekend as its Chicago namesake.

The one day event held at Shoreditch’s RED Market on Saturday 24 September will bring the spirit of Chicago to East London, giving beer lovers a line up of dynamic bands, local street food and the chance to try some of Goose Island’s great beers, including award-winning Goose IPA, Honkers Ale, 312 Urban Wheat Ale, alongside some rare tappings courtesy of a ‘Vintage Tap Room’.

Genre-defying indie rock favourites Everything Everything fresh from the summer festival circuit will headline, playing tracks from their acclaimed album ‘Get to Heaven’. The full band line up will be an eclectic mix of rock ‘n’ roll, electronic and hip-hop. Other highlights include hotly tipped female-fronted rock ‘n’ roll 4-piece Black Honey, whilst Little White Things will provide a dreamy indie-electronica sound straight out of Shoreditch.

In honour of its London links, the Block Party will feature a pop-up pub, John’s Tavern, named after founder John Hall. Featuring dartboards and a ‘sing-along piano’, the pop-up will set the scene for beer fans to enjoy a variety of Goose favourites, including Honkers Ale an English-style ale inspired by visits to London pubs.

Beer lovers will also get the chance to discover a break off ‘Vintage Tap Room’, featuring a variety of rare specialty brews and limited edition batches, whilst offering a chance to meet the talented brewers behind Goose Island’s great tasting range of beers.

Street food vendors will be on hand to tickle the taste buds of Block Party goers with a host of food and beer pairing dishes. Howard’s Meat Co. will be bringing
meats to feast on, whilst Hackney based Sutton & Sons will be providing the very finest deep authentic, wood-smoked fried fish and chips. Club Mexicana will be serving up ‘crazy-good’ vegan tacos bursting with spices that pair perfectly with the citrusy 312 Urban Wheat Ale, whilst Little Ghost Bagels will be going back to black with their signature, Asian fusion, squid ink bagels. For those after something a little sweeter, Peckham’s The South East Cakery will be on hand to supply award-winning cakes and brownies, including their delicious salted caramel brownie.
