Central London Outdoor Group (CLOG) - London's friendliest outdoor
activity group organising walks and cycle rides around London and
further afield - is organising a riverside pub evening in SE1 on
Wednesday 21 September to give new, prospective and existing members a chance to meet up, socialise. and find out more.

CLOG will meet at a well-known old pub, the Anchor Bankside in
Southwark, which has a terrace right beside the river. The address is 34 Park Street SE1 9EF on the south bank of the Thames between
Southwark Bridge and London Bridge (right beside Cannon Street railway bridge). It was from this pub in 1666 that famous diarist Samuel Pepys witnessed the awful destruction of the fire of London – he wrote in his diary that he took refuge in ‘a little alehouse on bankside… and there watched the fire grow’.

Meeting from 7pm onwards out on the terrace (or in one of the bars if the weather isn’t fine). Look for a CLOG sign on the table. The pub has a good selection of beers and a wide range of food from snacks to pub classics and offers vegetarian options. The nearest tube station is London Bridge and the easiest way to find the Anchor is by joining the Thames path and following it along to the pub. CLOG hopes to see you there!
