A powerful and lyrical player, Paul is without doubt one of the leading saxophonists of his generation. He includes a number of prestigious awards on his CV, including “Most promising young Jazz player”, “Best modern Jazz player” and the American “Clifford Brown/Stan Getz Award”. He toured the world as the featured saxophonist with the “Riverdance” show, worked with the likes of Eric Clapton and Matt Bianco and is currently a long standing member of the Steve Winwood Band. His powerful yet lyrical playing has been featured on numerous recordings and he is without question one of the most respected musicians on the scene today. Tonight Paul is bringing his "Patchwork Project" to the Club featuring the brilliant singer Jacqui Dankworth. A star in her own right Jacqui's lineage is faultless (her father was John Dankworth, her mother is Cleo Laine) and her talent is equally impressive. Her CV is vast and eclectic, including work with the likes of the Brodsky Quartet, Courtney Pine, Paloma Faith, Georgie Fame, Gregory Porter, The London Symphony Orchestra, and legendary jazz pianist Chick Corea and it is with enormous pleasure that we welcome this old friend to the Club this evening. The music is primarily World Music-influenced originals of Paul's, combined with what Paul describes as "popular songs arranged in a World Music idiom" and is a joy to hear. Completing the line up this evening will be guitarist Giorgio Serci, bass player Michael Janisch, drummer Rod Youngs and percussionist Satin Singh. Booking advised.

“Blistering saxist” Independent; “Exceptional talent” Sunday Times; “Paul Booth is….seemingly effortless in his improvisations...rich and warm of tone, he is a pleasure to listen to.” Birmingham Post; “Jacqui Dankworth…one of our finest singers, regardless of category.” Sunday Times
