UNDERGROUND SOUNDS, INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL
Europe’s best alternative musicians descend on the capital for Match&Fuse London 2016

On Saturday 29 October, Café Oto in Dalston will explode into life as the highly acclaimed Match&Fuse London festival returns. It will be a compelling musical showcase.

Established in 2012, Match&Fuse London provides festival-goers with an expertly curated snapshot of the very best underground artists from across Europe. Borderless and genre-less, it is all about European collaboration – something particularly poignant at present.

A diverse set of artists from different countries will take to the stage and there will be a mixture of established artists and exciting Match&Fuse debutantes on show – some scheduled to play individually while others will join forces in ground-breaking musical match-ups. All about newness, raw energy and edgy sounds, at the end of the night artists will be invited to come together for spontaneous, improvised sets.

The line up includes:
*Susana Santos Silva (PT) + Evan Parker (UK) – the mighty Evan Parker is brought together with one of Portugal’s most famous improvising musicians, as a new collaboration under M&F

*Chris Sharkey (UK) + Julie Kjaer (DK) – new collaboration curated by M&F, the intense skronk of Sharkey’s guitar meets the jagged edges of Kjaer’s saxophone

*Ripsaw Catfish (UK) – intense UK duo with two up-and-coming UK improvisers Cath Roberts and Anton Hunter

*Julie Campiche (CH) + Pete Marsh / Paul May (UK) – new trio collaboration curated by M&F, Swiss harpist brings formidable technique and melodicism to the sensitive UK duo

*Mario Rom’s Interzone (AT) – trio taking a new look at traditional jazz forms with interweaving narratives and visuals

*Skrap (NO) – intense Norwegian duo with harsh sounds and free improvised madness

Match&Fuse London takes place across two other venues - The Vortex in Dalston (Saturday 29 October) and New River Studios in Manor House (Friday 28 October). Please see website for details.
