This autumn, beer lovers will descend on Oval Space for an alternative Bavarian-themed experience like no other. Under an Alpine canopy, Oktoberfest East will bring the very best traditional aspects of the famous Bavarian beer festival to the heart of East London from 28th September – 9th October, complete with a unique and immersive food offering and live music for revellers to dance into the night.

Oktoberfest East will be the first and only UK festival to serve up overflowing steins of the official Oktoberfest beer by Munich brewing powerhouse, Hacker-Pschorr. The East London twist on Oktoberfest is a collaboration between the Hacker-Pschorr brewery, experiential duo The Art of Dining and specialist beer events company Beers, Bars & Beyond.

Oktoberfest dates back to the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese of Saxe- Hildburghausen in 1810. Citizens of Munich were invited to attend festivities near the city gates for which beer had been specially brewed. Over two-hundred years later, Oktoberfest East will celebrate this iconic festival’s traditions by recreating a corner of Bavaria in Bethnal Green.

Set against a backdrop of blue sky, fluffy clouds and an Alpine forest, festival-goers can settle down on long wooden tables to enjoy frothy steins of Hacker-Pschorr’s Oktoberfest ‘bier’, exclusive to this festival in the UK, with a slightly higher ABV it brings an authentic taste of Bavaria to the party. The Art of Dining have developed a menu based on Bavarian flavours but with an updated, East London twist to soak up the steins – from warm pretzels, to hearty salads and delicious schnitzel there will be full dining options or a food market for those wanting a quick bite. A soundtrack will be provided by East London’s very own Hackney Colliery Band; with a unique mix of brass and beats they’ll be blasting out everything from Adele to Kanye to get people on the dance floor.

A range of different priced packages accommodates for everything from a large group night out to after work drinks with a couple of friends. For £75 enjoy ‘The Full Package’ with reserved seating, table service, a three-course Bavarian feast from The Art of Dining, and steins of lager a plenty. ‘The München Ticket’ at £45pp includes reserved seating, two steins of beer (equivalent of four pints) and table service to order food. For £15 ‘The Reveller’ gets you entry and allows you to grab a free spot in amongst other festival-goers, with overflowing steins on offer at the bar and a food market by The Art of Dining to grab some hearty wurst.

The closest thing to Germany this side of the Rheine, Oktoberfest East is set to be an authentic Oktoberfest experience with a signature East London twist - the perfect place to eat, drink, laugh and party with friends.
