Malaysia Fest, UK’s largest celebration of Malaysian cuisine and culture, is returning to London’s iconic Trafalgar Square this month.

Now in its seventh year the free day-festival formerly known as Malaysia Night has extended hours to a full day festival due to their growing success with over 40,000 visitor welcomed last year.

A Malaysian Food Market will make up a large part of the festival with around twenty restaurants from both the UK and Malaysia offering a variety of dishes all priced around £5 so visitors can graze in true Malay food market style.

Dishes will include unusual curries, rotis, peanut pancakes, banana fritters, nasi lemak combinations and street snacks not often seen in London as well as more classic Malay satays, gorengs and rendangs. Tim Anderson, Ping Coombs and Norman Musa will be hosting evening cooking demonstrations.

There will also be a range of culture, business and tourism stalls showcasing traditional handicrafts, fabric displays, travel destinations and the latest from the Lotus Evora range for car enthusiasts.

Malaysia Fest is a collaborative effort by Malaysian Ministries, government agencies, GLCs and private sector to showcase the country to the United Kingdom and the 2016 event is expected to continue the momentum as a platform for national branding and promotion for the country.
