Come join this spectacular Live Flamenco Night in Battersea, curated in collaboration with internationally renowned London based Flamenco artist Maria Vega.

This October 6th, we go back in time and return to the roots of flamenco. Different rhythms, verses and steps draw from a complex historical web, narrating stories that echo the past, the present, a feeling, a groove. Come take this journey with us and discover the origins of Flamenco and the passion it continues to inspire today.

Taking place at the atmospheric Battersea Barge overlooking the River Thames, we promise a night for absolutely everyone, from dancers to music lovers, young, old, beginner or pro! Battersea Barge is only a 10-minute walk from Vauxhall tube station, in Nine Elms.

Doors open 7 pm – Grab a drink and find a seat on this unique river boat. A true hidden gem and well-worth the journey.

7.45-8.45 pm – Flamenco workshop with Natalia Garcia Huidobro. This is a great opportunity for all those who have always wanted to dance Flamenco but never found the time. Expect a fun and informal workshop, addressing both dancers and non-dancers and exploring the different rhythms that will later be brought up in the performance

9.00 pm – Live Flamenco Performance

Flamenco Roots: a journey from the origins to present day, through song, verse and dance.

Cast:

Natalia Garcia Huidobro – flamenco dancer
Natalia studied with La China, Alejandro Granados, Juana Amaya, Manuel Liñán, Rafaela Carrasco, La Tacha and Manuel Reyes. Based in Madrid, she has worked at the legendary Café de tablaos Chinitas, Las Carbonera and El Corral de la Morería, and performed with the Compañía de Juan Antonio de los Reyes (Lutraki, Greece), flamenco quartet Mura in Japan and Manolo Punto (París).

Pablo Domínguez – flamenco guitarist
Born in Cadiz into a musical family, Dominguez felt the influence of Flamenco and Jazz from a very young age. His father, Chano Dominguez, introduced him to a wealth of musical talent with names such as Tomatito, Luis de la Pica, Antonio Serrano, Piraña and Blas Cordoba. Pablo initially trained as a percussionist before switching to the guitar. After years of being self-taught, Pablo moved to Barcelona before crossing borders to London at the age of 21. Pablo has performed in shows throughout the UK, Spain, France and Dubai.

Leo Power – flamenco singer
Outstanding cantaora from Cadiz, Leo has been immersed in the world of Flamenco since her childhood. Her stunning vocals and larger than life charisma have met critical acclaim in theatres, clubs and festivals in Spain, all around Europe and South America.
