Photography Exhibition and Craft Activities: Black Fashion Traders in Barking and Dagenham

For Black History Month 2016 eastside Community Heritage will be celebrating Black market fashion from Barking and Dagenham. There will be a photography exhibition featuring the BME fashion traders of Barking Market at Barking Learning Centre from the 12th- 31st October. The photographs will be accompanied by the traders fashion memories in order to bring the portraits to life.

We would like to invite the residents of Barking and Dagenham to join us on the 12th October from 5.30- 7.30pm for the launch of this exhibition at Barking Learning Centre. At this free event there will be fashion design and photography activities, suitable for adults and children alike, giving guests the opportunity to be part of the exhibition. We hope to bring the market atmosphere into the library, with traders displaying a sample of their goods and giving brief demonstrations. The fun family friendly activities will embody the communal spirit of market day by providing a focal point for all members of the Barking and Dagenham community.
