What is an artist’s studio today, and tomorrow?. Beyond apps and digital tools physical spaces remain important for experimentation and production. Solitude for some, social and collaborative situations for others. Studios are disappearing to other construction across London and elsewhere. Some communities and organisations are thriving with work space formats, more are needed, and in more diverse and accessible forms. Studio settings are a life line for many kinds of practice. Cities of concrete and chrome crumble without these fruitful energies. This new and evolving group show, curated by A M Hanson and premiering at The Gallery at Republic during Photo Month Festival, presents lens based and mixed multi media reactive ideas, works and installations, studio scenes and dreams from this gathering of emerging and established artists, photographers and film makers. With artists’ hosting days, studio scenarios and tours during the show run.
