Roots and Shoots’ Apple Day is an annual; event to which local Lambeth people flock and many others travel to specially from further afield. The 17th Annual Roots and Shoots Apple Day takes place on Sunday 9 October between 11am and 4pm.
Highlights will be the display of unusual and rare apples of around 100 varieties, tastings and on-the-spot juice pressing of some of the varieties from Wales and Somerset. The musical dragon and keeper will usher visitors through to the Dragon’s Storytelling Den in the depths of the Wild Garden and Sonia from the Lions part theatre group will be making her traditional corn dollies. Refreshments from the Roots and Shoots kitchen (including the chef’s famous cakes) and a variety of other food and craft stalls (including regulars such as Corrine’s bee jewellery) will surround the lovely walnut tree.
