London Food Tech Week, the world’s largest gathering of all things Food Tech returns for its second year, which will run from 17th to 21st October. The week will bring together startups to FTSE 250s who are all dedicated to making a positive impact on the future of food through innovation, collaboration and investment.

Bringing together brands, innovators, startups and investors London Food Tech Week aims to elevate the Food Tech industry and disrupt the future of food, with an exciting and ambitious programme that will tackle the issues and challenges currently faced by the industry, with each day allocated a specific theme.

During London Food Tech Week visitors can explore the concept of lab-grown meat, how artificial intelligence can help deliver better solutions for our nutrition, and the potential of 3D printing food through a series of inspirational talks and debates, as well as experience immersive new technology and meet the up-and-coming pioneers of the Food Tech Industry.

London Food Tech Week has partnered with Just Eat on the Collaborative Innovation and Investment themed day to support the launch of its inaugural Accelerator Programme. During the week, startups will pitch their businesses to an expert panel for a chance to be selected as the first entrants onto Just Eat's Accelerator. The programme is part of Just Eat’s vision to create the world's greatest food community, helping to build a sustainable Food Tech industry by supporting and investing in the next generation of FTSE 250 startups.

Highlights of the five-day event include an Insect Bar where guests will be able to taste a selection of bug proteins. Visitors will see how technology is being used to turn insects into protein in a combative solution to sustaining the ever-growing population. They will be able to try liquid nitrogen ice cream with insect protein, cherry chocolate brownies made with cricket flour, and world-class insect-infused cocktails. Visitors will also be able to tour the UK’s only Aquaponic Farm and experience the future of urban farming, as well as taste the fruits of their labour.

Another highlight is the Supermarket of the Future. Here, attendees will experience the future of food retail: Does it include Virtual Reality in the retail experience? Are the supermarkets of the future selling cricket flour pasta or mealworm Bolognese? Will consumers subscribe to hydroponics shelf space in their local retailer? Will supermarkets even exist?

Additional features during the week include a workshop exploring the applications of Nanotechnology in food, The FoodTalks ‘Unboxing the Future of Dining’ panel event, which will be hosted on Facebook Live, and will see a specially selected panel unbox exciting, never before seen products from the Food Tech world. And, a Pop Up restaurant where guests will be immersed in an end-to-end Digital Dining experience.

London Food Tech Week features dozens of innovators and experts, such as Jamie’s Food Tube star, The Food Busker who will host the founders of SORTEDFood. The week also includes talks from leading experts in their fields including Zoe Collins, Creative Director of the Jamie Oliver Group, Tessa Cook, Co-Founder of OLIO and Arthur Kay, CEO of Bio Bean.

Tickets are available now and can be purchased by the event, day or a full week pass on the website.
