About the Speaker
Darren Shaw is a coach and researcher that has interests in the mechanisms of anxiety from a cognitive psychology perspective, having completed his BSc dissertation on the cognitive component of anxiety, he has been looking at ways to incorporate empirical theories of anxiety into performance coaching. He is also a practitioner of Neuro-linguistic programming(NLP), an approach to modelling excellence in human behaviour so that others may learn how to be more efficient in their life. His style of speaking is both informative and filled with humour, anecdotes and easy to understand concepts that help you learn and critically evaluate in your own way
About the organisers
Psychsociety was born out of a movement that began at Birkbeck University when a group of adult students came together and built the greatest student-run society Birkbeck ever knew. After graduating, the team decided to keep the vibe going and continue spreading their passion for the psychological sciences to the general public.
