Junk and found percussion workshops in Camden.

High profile Australian musician, educator and former star of the Spaghetti Western Orchestra, Graeme Leak, is offering ‘junk and found’ percussion workshops in Camden. Teaching rhythms borrowed from various world music traditions, this drumming workshop will go over African, Brazilian and Afro-Cuban styles.

Graeme supplies all of the found objects for the orchestra including: metal and plastic drums, wooden boxes, fuel tanks and tin cans. These, alongside Graeme’s collection of real instruments – drums, shakers, cowbells and whistles – combine to make the unique funky-junk sound of the Noise Orchestra. Participants can bring their own to the mix: real and found, percussion, wind, strings and brass - all welcome. Let’s make some noise!
