Throwback ft "Friday" Screening

We are proud to present our brand new monthly event THROWBACK!!! "Throwback" is a new unique monthly day party concept meets pop up cinema as we take you back to an era when music & raving was fun! Remember SW1, Vauxhall Arches, Maximus, Iceni, Roseberys, Gass Club, Roller Express, Colosseum, all dayers in the park, House Party's, dancing with members of the other sex to Slow Jamz in a club? Well "Throwback" is taking you back to that magical time on the last Sunday of the month! Hosted by our residents USM Media's own DJ Longers formally of G-Ents) & The Beat 103.6's Shuges (former member of 90% Sound) plus legendary guest DJ's every month coupled with a screening of a classic Urban movie from this golden era of music, movies and London clubbing.

Kicking off on Sunday Oct 30th "Throwback" will be spinning only the very best 80's & 90's Hip Hop; RnB & Dancehall anthems; Ol' Skool UKG and Jungle classics and a touch of Slow Jamz! This month guest DJ tearing up the decks is Mi Soul Radio's own afternoon morning show host George Kay formally of Choice FM!

And the first movie we are screening at our first event is the DIRECTORS CUT of the classic 90's Hip Hop comedy "Friday" directed by F. Gary Gray in his directorial debut. It stars legendary Ice Cube, who co-wrote the film with DJ Pooh and Chris Tucker in his first starring role alongside Nia Long, Bernie Mac, John Witherspoon, Regina King & more. The comedy details a hectic Friday in the lives of unemployed Craig Jones (Cube) and Smokey (Tucker), who must pay a local LA drug dealer $200 by 10:00 p.m. that night or else! The directors cut version features 6 ADDITIONAL MINUTES not available in the 1995 original cinematic version of the movie!

Also on the night you can be the DJ! Turn selecta now by voting on our Facebook page for your favourite genre from 80s Hip Hop; 90s Hip Hop; Jungle; Ol’ Skool UKG; 90s Dancehall; 90s RnB; New Jack Swing and Slow Jamz! The top 2 genres as voted for online will face off in a live soundclash every month between Shuges and DJ Longers! We will also choose the top artists and labels from this era from the above genres, every month #1 voted Artist and Label will have a special live 30 min tribute mix of their anthems curated on the night by DJ Longers!

We will also be hooking you up with FREE POPCORN to everyone that attends the screenings plus sweets and hot food will be available to purchase during the movie screening!
