Following the sixtieth anniversary summer tour of the Bolshoi Ballet, LRBS formed an association with the Bolshoi Ballet. On October 30th, 7.30pm at Sadler’s Wells, with the acclaimed international choreographer and director, Dame Gillian Lynne as patron, Olga Marchenkova and Artemy Belyakov from the Bolshoi Ballet will dance alongside LRBS students. They will be accompanied by award winning musicians in front of an audience to include over 550 underprivileged children from Lambeth, who will attend for free.

This is an incredible opportunity to see artists from the Bolshoi Ballet in an ambitious extension of LRBS outreach work with children from one of the most deprived London boroughs. These children could never ordinarily have dreamed of a theatre experience, so imagine the impact on them when world class Russian ballet dancers will share their art with these London youngsters in a world class theatre.

The evening is part of a series of performances with the Bolshoi Ballet and LRBS to engage young people from poor backgrounds in the world of ballet and music at the highest level. Dame Gillian has kindly offered to choreograph a new piece especially for this series of performances which will include over 3,000 disadvantaged children in the audiences. Art has no boundaries and Dame Gillian Lynne believes art is an expression for all. It is wonderful these distinguished Russian ballet dancers will give their time to dance for these children.

Please join us on October 30th at Sadler’s Wells.

Repertoire for Celebration on October 30th 2016 will include Paquita and new works by Andrei Melanin of the Bolshoi Theatre and Vladimir Varnava, Winner of the Golden Mask
