Oat Café by Quaker Oats

As winter draws ever closer, Quaker Oats® is preparing to celebrate the start of ‘Porridge Season*’ by opening a one-of-a-kind pop up Oat Café. Set to be the nation’s first ever Instagram-driven café, where the porridge dish served will change every half an hour, depending on which of the recipes is most popular on Instagram.

The social-media-driven menu will be created by influential foodies; Edd Kimber, Great British Bake Off’s first-ever winner and Anna Jones founder of We Are Food. This first-of-its-kind Café will be open for three days between 9am and 12pm from Friday 28th October – 30th October, and can be found in East London at The Old Truman Brewery.

The fate of the pop-up Café’s ever-changing daily menu will be in the public’s hands. Instagram-users can ‘vote’ for their favourite dish by hitting ‘like’ on either Edd or Anna’s Instagram channels. Every day there will be four new porridge recipes for the public to choose from. The votes will be independently counted every half an hour and the porridge recipe with the most likes will be served at the Oat Café.

The Café opening coincides with the launch of Quaker’s first ever Porridge Season report, revealing the full extent of the nation’s love affair with winter porridge. It will include 2016 topping trends, as well as uncovering how people will be eating their porridge this season.

The trends identified in the 2016 Porridge report will provided the inspiration for Edd and Anna when creating the different dishes. A total of 12 recipes will be created across the three days and will include a combination of sweet, savoury, dairy and gluten-free options to satisfy every taste bud.
