Hark! Hark! Solo Show by Dan Jamieson

BROTH art is excited to announce it's second solo art exhibition of work by the very original and award-winning caricature artist, Dan Jamieson.

The forthcoming show at l'Entrepot on Dalston Lane, Hark! Hark! presents a brand new collection of Dan Jamieson's satirical drawings of celebrities and icons – with a festive twist!

Jamieson's humorous doodles have been making an impression since his degree show at Camberwell College of Art in 2009. He has worked with the likes of Rough Trade, End of the Road Festival, Liberty’s and recently exhibited a large collection of work at Wieden and Kennedy in Amsterdam. His tongue-and-cheek illustrations have even made their way onto a series of beer cans brought out by Crate Brewery.

Hark! Hark! will run from Friday 25th November till Wed 23rd December (Opening hours - Tues to Thu - 3pm till close, Fri to Sun – 11am - close). The private view is on Thursday 24th November (7 – 9pm) To celebrate the anticipated arrival of Christmas we’ll be serving egg-nog and mince pies.

L’Entrepot lives on Dalston Lane and is run by three friends. Inside the space is attractive, huge ceilings in a warehouse style setting that caters as a restaurant, a gallery, a place to sit and have a coffee and a bar that procures stock from local, independent breweries and distilleries as well as an exciting selection of wine from around the world. L'Entrepot launches a brand new menu this September, spearheaded by Angus Henderson, a pupil of Raymond Blanc who has travelled extensively, cooking around the world. Henderson has taken l'Entrepot's long standing affinity with French cuisine and elevated it with whole-food, fresh and unprocessed ingredients, while introducing flavours from some of the countries he has visited. Henderson explains, "I have always felt an obligation to make food that is healthy,as that is how I like to eat, but also to make it tasty, fun and beautiful.
I think this is simple- just use fresh whole-food ingredients of good quality, focussing on plenty of fruit and veg and minimise processing, refining and added sugar".

BROTH art is a company founded in 2014 by Kim Soep and is devoted to finding and nurturing artistic talent from across Europe and making works accessible to those looking to acquire original contemporary art. With no large grants or government subsidies, Kim has taken a grassroots approach to her business model which has helped her slowly but surely expand her business. She now works with 18 artists from across the UK, Norway and Sweden.
Kim runs all aspects of the business herself, from curating and promoting pop-up exhibitions to sourcing and selling the art. Creatively thinking around the need for a commercial premises, Kim invites collectors and buyers to view artwork at her flat, an old Technical School in Hackney, by appointment only. BROTH is closely engaged with the vibrant London arts scene and participates in art fairs, pop-up exhibitions as well as online sales through its website.

BROTH art was named after Kim’s surname, Soep, which means - and is pronounced - soup in Dutch.“I was born and brought up on the West Coast of Scotland. Kim explains. I wanted the name of my company to be relevant to me and my history and BROTH seemed like the answer.”
Since its debut, BROTH has participated in a number of art fairs - including The Affordable Art Fair and Islington Art Fair - collaborated with a fashion boutique and hosted several pop-up exhibitions across London.
