My Back Pages at Nells Jazz and Blues

My Back Pages is a dedicated Bob Dylan Tribute Act whose performances encompass the entire breadth of the legendary songwriter’s incredible career. The band was established in 2011 and has existed in a variety of duo, trio and full-band formats. This has allowed My Back Pages to represent Bob’s many career phases, including the early acoustic years, the modern reinvention of Dylan’s late career and of course the furore created when Bob went electric to the consternation of the purist folk movement.

My Back Pages presents tonight as a three piece trio consisting of: Steve Pritchard – Vocals & Harmonica, Mike Fry – Guitars, and Damian Walsh – Bass. The band promise to deliver a broad brush stroke of material from Dylan’s early ground-breaking protest songs, right through the electrified rock’n roll of the seminal mid-sixties albums and the renaissance of his classic seventies period. The songs are interspersed with stories and anecdotes to bring the music alive with historical context and wry observation.

So many people of all ages have been delighted to be re-acquainted or in some cases introduced to these musical works. Bob Dylan’s output is so prolific, and so energising that My Back Pages has delighted audiences of all sizes, leaving country pubs, dedicated clubs and festival stages rocking and reeling to the freewheelin’ sounds.
