An Alternative Gathering & IAD The Isotape Agency Dublin Proudly Present Absolute Beginners - A Tribute Night to Paul Weller's The Jam + Support.

Absolute Beginners
This is not a tribute/cover band with 3 members wearing suits, this line up features well known punk musicians who want to pay homage to Weller's music and to The Jam!

"I’ve always wanted to pay a tribute to the Jam, it’s all about friendship and musicianship. It’s all about not trying to look like the Jam, 3 lads in black suits, and play note for note Weller’s songs, the band will play its own versions of the songs.

It’s all about paying a tribute to one of the finest bands England ever produced! It’s all about punk musicians paying a tribute to a band’s work and paying a tribute to f***ing great songs!!"

Absolute Beginners / A tribute night to Paul Weller’s the Jam, with musicians from the Outcasts, one ex Paranoid Visions, from the Craic, a tribute to the Ruts, one ex Hooligan (Dublin), ex Monica and the Explosion (with Paul Slack, Uk Subs, on bass), musicians from Immaculate deception etc..

The band will commemorate the Jam's very last gig on the 10th of December 1982, in Brighton, playing a selection of the band's best songs, plus a good bit of that set list.

With Support From:

Phoenix Chroi
Post Punk with a Celtic Heart, that always rises again. Playing a mixture of originals along with mod, punk & new wave covers.

Spitting Feathers
In ya face cheese punk. What we do is take mostly 1970s pop songs and do our own very stripped down and primitive take on them.
