SWAP YOUR LANDLINE FOR A FLAT WHITE

Relish broadband opens London’s first ‘Landline Exchange Café’, letting customers ditch their unused home phones in return for a free coffee and a croissant.

Relish, central London’s wireless internet provider, is teaming up with Soho Grind to launch the ‘Landline Exchange Café’ – a unique pop-up where customers can bring in their unused and unwanted landline phones in exchange for a free cup of coffee and a croissant.

As pioneers of ‘landline-free broadband’, and in light of research that revealed that over half (57%) of Londoners consider the landline a ‘redundant piece of technology’ and almost a quarter (24%) of us are paying for a landline that we never use, Relish is offering customers the chance to trade in their redundant phones for something they actually want.

The one-of-a-kind initiative is being launched following new research from Relish revealing that six in ten (61%) Londoners only keep a landline phone because they need it for their broadband connection.

Bridget Lorimer, Head of Brand and Consumer Marketing at Relish, said “Our research clearly shows that landlines have become redundant pieces of tech, with many of us only paying for one because our internet provider requires us to. So we decided to partner with Soho Grind to finally offer Londoners a real use for their unwanted phones – as a way to ‘pay’ for a cup of coffee!”
