The Brick Lane Gallery is excited to present ABSTRACT ART. This popular group exhibition aims to showcase the diversity and modes of abstraction through the works of local and international artists. The exhibition celebrates the variety of abstraction, exploring geometry, nature and human emotions through different mediums, from photography, with Kristina Kovacs Meditation Flowers series to painting and works on paper as in Antonia Cacic’s body of works. Stephen Clifton’s artworks, instead cross the boundaries between abstract and figurative, painting and collage, mechanical reproduction and the human mark, producing a fascinating and thought provoking commentary on the effects of time, decay and human whim on our urban environment. Chris Horner presents a more playful approach to abstraction. His works are the result of a continuous relationship between the artist and the surface he is working with. Jonathan Redmayne and Danielle Solk bring bursts of colour and powerful strikes of paint in their canvases, that could be seen as the most iconic abstract works in this exhibition. Along the same lines, Hala El-Attar projects in her paintings colourful visions and inspirations. Dogasaunt art presents works with layered meanings that the viewer needs to unveil. Mexican artist Ricardo Trigos returns at The Brick Lane gallery with his series Runnings, a selection of paintings with geometrical lines and patterns.

You are warmly welcome to join us for a drink with the artists at the opening night of ABSTRACT ART at The Brick Lane Gallery open from 6pm-8.30pm on Wednesday 23rd November 2016.
