Old Forester, America’s first bottled bourbon, has teamed up with Evans and Peel this December to create a bespoke cocktail, ‘The Executioner’, to celebrate Repeal Day, the anniversary of the day Prohibition ended in the USA in 1933.

The cocktail was designed by the team at Evans and Peel - a 1920’s ‘detective agency’ themed speakeasy bar and restaurant hidden away in Kensington, London. Made from a frozen infusion of citrus oils, smoke and bitters, the cocktail is perfectly paired with Old Forester to create a well-balanced and rich flavour - finished off with splashes of theatrical ‘blood’.

Introduced by George Garvin Brown in 1870, Old Forester is the only bourbon continuously distilled by the same company before, during and after Prohibition. In 1920, at the start of Prohibition, many distilleries closed but Old Forester held one of only six federal licenses to continue producing whisky for medicinal purposes. This long-held experience in whisky-making is carried through into the Old Forester bourbon today, and can be tasted in its classically rich flavour and smooth character.

The cocktail is available now at the bar and is priced at £9.50
