Heads South play exhilarating Cuban Jazz and Latin favourites in a brilliant repertoire of original compositions and classic tunes. “Cool, cultured and exhilarating….very special" The Musician “Crisp and invigorating” The Observer "Very talented..dazzling solos...well worth seeing" The Jazzmann “Impeccable musicianship” The Times “Cuban rhythms dominate, rocking syncopated percussion...well worth watching” The Gig Guide. The band’s line-up features top UK jazz trumpeter Steve Waterman, Cuban percussionist Chino Martell Morgan, pianist and bandleader John Harriman, Buster Birch on Drumkit, Frame Drum and Castanets, and their newest member Venezuelan bassplayer Adolfredo Pulido

The Band has released two albums to critical acclaim, it was selected to perform a national tour of Wales sponsored by the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and Arts Council of Wales, and was chosen from more than 75 bands nationwide as a winner of the UK Jazz Services/National Touring Forum award for 2014/5.

For newcomers to this music think Buena Vista in a smaller package, add tuneful melody and the adrenalin of jazz improvisation, and the warmth of a Latin evening....premium Latin Jazz Salsa that thrills the keen concert listener and the dance lover.
