How do we write the body and the bodily in poetry? How can we use the senses to make sense of the physical? In this workshop we will take inspiration from the art of Tschabalala Self, engage with writing exercises to stimulate somatic responses, and respond to poetries that challenge representations of the body.
Simon Pomery is a poet and record producer researching a critical PhD in experimental poetry at Royal Holloway. He curates PRAXIS, a series of text/sound events, and since 2013 has led poetry workshops inspired by the exhibitions at Parasol. The workshops are currently co-produced with visual artists, Labern&Lloyd of the drawing shed
