Mark Austin(conductor) and Mari Wynn Williams (soprano)

Mark Austin, drawing on his experience as a performer and his ongoing research in this area, will examine the background to Beethoven’s extraordinary influence upon Wagner, considering musical and written documents that permit a deeper understanding of both figures. He is joined by soprano Mari Wynn Williams who will sing musical extracts as part of the lecture.

Opera Prelude is a small charity passionate about supporting young professional opera singers who give lecture recitals in London. These friendly and inclusive events will introduce you to the international opera singers of tomorrow by way of recitals, concerts and masterclasses.
