Today’s lecture explores the relationships between some exceptional women and the composers who, inspired by their talents, wrote for them. The links range from familial with Mozart and the four Weber sisters , by way of marriage as with Rossini and his wife Isabella Colbran to the amorous with Puccini’s multiple affairs.

Opera Prelude is a small charity passionate about supporting young professional opera singers who give lecture recitals in London. These friendly and inclusive events will introduce you to the international opera singers of tomorrow by way of recitals, concerts and masterclasses.
