Set within a Victorian townhouse close to The Royal Albert Hall, The Gore Hotel has had a passionate love affair with the theatre ever since its beginnings in 1892. The Gore’s founders, Miss Ada and Miss Fanny Cooke, came from a theatrical background, and many of the hotel’s illustrious guests were actors and singers. In later years, Judy Garland visited on so many occasions that she was often referred to as a resident, and today guests can sleep in Ms Garland’s original gilt wood bed in the aptly named “Judy Garland Room”. Today the hotel still attracts a mix of fascinating people, and is especially popular with those from the film, fashion and music industries.

Since bursting onto the Burlesque scene two years ago, Hurly Burly has become known as London’s hottest Burlesque act, having been voted “Best Troupe 2007” by the Ministry of Burlesque Awards. Miss Polly Rae is one of the UK’s rising Burlesque stars whose shows feature a delicious blend of cabaret, variety, traditional and “neo” Burlesque. She has also performed regularly for luxury lingerie brand Agent Provocateur and has appeared on the Paul O’Grady show on Channel 4, Celebrity Scissorhands on BBC 3, and The Alan Titchmarsh Show and London Tonight on ITV.
