WHAT’S TO SEE?
As guest curators for The Trafalgar Hotel, jotta.com has yet again transformed the interior space of the hotel. Memory Evaporate showcases the work of four young artists with transcendental and surreal installations within the interior areas of the hotel.

Memory Evaporate explores a moment of hesitation between the real and the fictional and attempts to question reality verses imagined space.

Dale MacPhee, General Manager of The Trafalgar says, “The space at The Trafalgar Hotel is incredibly versatile with lots of big open spaces and intriguing corners. We believe that uniformity lacks lustre – we’re all about enhancing our customer’s experience and art is a way of expressing what The Trafalgar represents – sexy, without rules or limits.

“The beauty of this exhibition is that it allows people to appreciate art whilst in a stylish and relaxing environment. Viewers can choose to enjoy a drink or a bite to eat in Rockwell, our award winning upper and lower ground floor bar and restaurant, whilst appreciating the art around them.”

THE TRAFALGAR HOTEL – SUPPORTING YOUNG ARTISTS
As part of The Trafalgar Hotel’s initiative to support young artists, they have partnered with jottaCONTEMPORARY, which identifies young and emerging artists who utilise varying discourses and disciplines. By creating an online profile of artwork on jotta.com artists are given a platform for their work to be viewed, discussed and interacted with; encouraging artists to explore diverse projects and new approaches to exhibiting. jottaContemporary selects artists from within the jotta community, as well as showcasing artists who are still studying, recently graduated and working with young collectives all over London.

THE VENUE
Featuring a sleek and sophisticated design by Mackay & Partners, Rockwell incorporates black leather armchairs and sofas, white lacquer surfaces and dark walnut walls and floor to create a sensual experience with warmth and comfort. Open throughout the day, the bar is a buzzy coffee meeting destination with wireless broadband. By night, Rockwell becomes a cocktail haven with DJs and events taking place in the airy spaces of the bar.
