On November 28th Sphinx Fine Art, London, unveils a major art exhibition and the launch of its new book The Collectors: Old Master Paintings. Curated to celebrate the 245th anniversary of the founding of the Hermitage, St. Petersburg, the event reflects the current explosion in collecting Old Masters and the renaissance in museum creation, both private and public. The exhibition of nearly 100 museum quality works tells the story of over a dozen of the world’s greatest collector’s art, whose collections now reside in the Hermitage, through Sphinx’s own paintings, using the artists these patrons collected.
