SAILOR JERRY PRESENTS…

A Place To Bury Strangers and
The Joy Formidable

• Sailor Jerry announces more exclusive shows in London due to huge demand for tickets

Sailor Jerry Presents…sold out in record time last week so Sailor Jerry Rum has added two more nights of undeniably great international music talent and today announces the release of the free tickets.

The third night will be Sailor Jerry Presents…A Place to Bury Strangers on Tuesday 15th December at the Camden Barfly in London. After successfully supporting the likes of MGMT and Nine Inch Nails on tour in 2008, the band released the acclaimed EP ‘In Your Hear’t in 2009 and the band are expected to make a huge musical impact on 2010. Now they bring their acclaimed sounds to an intimate Sailor Jerry crowd.

Wrapping up the series will be Sailor Jerry Presents…The Joy Formidable on Monday 21st December at the Camden Barfly in London. The Joy Formidable have had an amazing 2009 which started with the release of their debut album ‘A Balloon Called Moaning’ and culminated in high profile support slots with Editors and Passion Pit. Their live set is in such demand that they went on to release a live album last month, so tickets for their free show for Sailor Jerry will not be around for long.

Sailor Jerry Presents…is a free show for an exclusive audience, with guest support to be announced. Tickets are available at www.sailorjerryrum.co.uk from Friday 4th December at 10am.

Sailor Jerry Presents… will also showcase the iconic Norman Collins artwork which firmly places him as the founding father of the tattoo world. Sailor Jerry is recognised as the leading light of tattoo design and flash art following his innovative work in the 1930s which gained him cult status.

Sailor Jerry was exposed to the art and imagery of Southeast Asia when he travelled on the high seas, before going on to design tattoos which reflect the devil-may-care attitude of men far away from home. He was an uncompromising individual, and he is widely regarded as the most influential tattooist of all time.

Norman Collins the man is the inspiration behind Sailor Jerry Rum, and classic drinks including Jerry & ginger and Jerry & cola will be on offer at promotional rates throughout the night. There will also be a specially designed original Sailor Jerry drinks available at the shows for thirsty music aficionados.

Sailor Jerry has a long standing association with music both here in the UK and in the US where independent bands regularly take to the stage in the Sailor Jerry Store in Philadelphia. Sailor Jerry has also been at the best events in the UK musical calendar including the Big Chill, Kerrang! Awards and the Camden Crawl. Now, Sailor Jerry continues this tradition by rewarding music fans with Sailor Jerry Presents; free shows with undeniably great bands and original and iconic artwork.
