Ananda Utsav will be held on April 1-3 in Alexandra Palace in 2011. This year the event focus has widened to include themes like Knowledge Zone and Cookery Theatre.
Since this will be the 150th anniversary of Kabi Guru Rabindranath Tagore, Anandabazar Patrika conceptualised the FIRST EVER recitation of his poems in Bengali by Soumitra Chatterjee, translated in Urdu & Hindi and recited by Gulzar with vocal renditions by Kavita Krishnamurthi and Pt Ajoy Chakraborty. Besides there would also be a rendition of Tagore’s most enduring and popular play Sesher Kabita by stalwarts from the Bengali theatre community.

For the classical music lovers, there is sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan with his sons while popular playback singers Shaan and Hariharan will entertain the Bollywood enthusiasts.

The 3 day cultural extravaganza promises to be an entertaining experience not just for the Indian community in UK but also for lovers of Indian music and entertainment.
