The Museum of London Discovery Trail

Take your family on a journey of discovery through London’s historic heart at the Museum of London. We’ve teamed up with the Museum to offer you a new way to find out about the capital: a trail of clues by text message.

HiddenCity is a mobile game that transforms a city into an experience. Sign up online, bring your mobile phone, grab a copy of the museum map and get ready to step through time. Each clue challenges you to explore your surroundings to find the answer. Your goal is to complete all the clues and earn your 'Certified Londoner' badge.

Ideal for groups of two to four people, HiddenCity is a social way to discover - or re-discover - the museum. You can also play the game as a competitive event by entering multiple teams, contending against each other to be the fastest to complete a trail. After the event, you’ll be able to log on to the HiddenCity website to compare your scores.

Expect to see, touch, hear and even smell exhibits spanning prehistoric, Roman and medieval London, right up to the 20th century and present day city.This will be an easy trail and take about two hours to complete including a break halfway through in the Museum café. Entry to the Museum itself is free. The trail is suitable for all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult and those under a 8 years of age may need assistance with the clues.
