This shopper's paradise is the seventh edition of Shop West End VIP Day (Very Important Pedestrian) – the World's Biggest Christmas Shopping Day. Traffic free Oxford Street and Regent Street will come alive with entertainment. There will be special events, deals and discounts throughout the weekend plus the West End Christmas Carol-A-Thon will be raising money for the Kids Company charity. The choir of Carols will kickstart an epic 30-hour Christmas carol marathon, set to go on into the early hours.

This December, Oxford Street and Regent Street will be returned to shoppers from Saturday 10 December 2011 for a traditional, magical West End Christmas celebration and traffic-free shopping weekend. The main event over American Express Shop West End VIP (Very Important Pedestrians) Weekend will be a 30 hour charity West End Christmas Carol-A-Thon to raise money for Kids Company, which provides practical, emotional support to vulnerable inner-city children.

Event organisers, New West End Company, and charity, Kids Company, are on a mission to find a choir of women called Carol to kick off the charity event with the first carolling session. The marathon of Christmas songs will continue through the night with the nocturnal leg taking place in the window of House of Fraser’s flagship Oxford Street store. The money raised in London’s West End over the weekend will give 3,000 disadvantaged children a Christmas experience that they otherwise would not have.

The American Express Shop West End VIP Weekend is the biggest event on the shopping calendar and this year’s event will capture all that is best about a traditional West End Christmas. For the first time ever, shoppers are invited to enjoy a whole extra day of traffic-free, festive entertainment filled streets for hassle-free Christmas shopping and double rewards for American Express Cardmembers across Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 December.
