Maconchy String Quartet no 5
In celebration of the London 2012 Olympics, this concert features significant works premiered in the previous London Olympic years of 1908 and 1948. The final work is the stunning String Quartet no 5 by RCM alumna Elizabeth Maconchy, who has been described as “the greatest English composer for strings”.
