A show for all who can stay up this late. Some is child-oriented material; we've all been one once, and some is for those who are older, which is where we're all headed. Includes goats and boats, fish and ships, yachts and guillemotting. In turn, jolly, melancholly and melifluid. No hamsters.

John Hegley is a man of many talents and experiences. As a comic and front man for the Popticians in the eighties he recorded two sessions for John Peel. As a poet he has been a frequent performer of his words, sung and spoken, on both local and national radio.

Hegley has produced ten books of verse and prose as well as CDs. He has also been a presenter on the radio and TV including a guest on programs such as Wogan and Nevermind the Buzzcocks. As a regular at the Edinburgh Festival, Hegley is noted for his exploration of diverse topics as dog hair, potatoes, handkerchieves and the misery of human existence. His songs have titles such as 'I saw my dinner on the TV'.
Hegley was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Arts from what is now the University of Bedfordshire in recognition of his unique contribution to the performing arts.
