Bringing together leading professionals from the international contemporary music scene, including composers, developers, designers and media artists, three different concerts and several media installations will take place across one week as part of the 9th International Symposium on Computer Music Modeling and Retrieval (CMMR 2012) held at Queen Mary University of London.
New Resonances invites you to a unique sonic, visual, and interactive journey, featuring "augmented" musical instruments that extend traditional playing techniques. Avant-garde computer-generated music will meet live performance and experimental film.
Highlights will include dance choreographies with wearable interactive instruments, immersive audio-visual environments using 3D graphics, sonifications and visualisations of emotional responses from wearable bio-sensors as well as a surprising way of playing ping pong.
