How good is a fruit fly’s sense of smell? How reliant are insects on their sense of smell? Dr James Logan will reveal how discerning and fundamental the sense of smell is to insects and what the potential benefits of understanding these mechanisms are to us as humans.

Dr James Logan is the Deputy Research Degree Coordinator for the Department of Disease Control at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and the Chief Scientific Officer for the Arthropod Control Product Test Centre (ARCTEC).

Café Scientifique events aim to provide a forum for the debate and discussion of scientific ideas, audience participation is strongly encouraged. Food and drink will be available to purchase throughout the event. Admission will be on a first-come-first-served basis.
