The Monday Club: An Evening Salon debates - The Internet: Do all the things we've lost add up to all the things we've gained?

Set aside Monday June 25th for the next meeting of The Assembly's The Monday Club. We will be debating the profit and loss of the digital age over food, wine and peculiar trimmings. Tickets are free.

Digital innovation has come at a cost. This is your chance to discuss whether the iPhone prevents you from talking with strangers, whether Google has ruined your memory, or if Facebook is merely an expression of one man's anti-social vision of commercially exploited privacy.

The speakers will include Tony Ageh, the controller of Archive Development at the BBC and leader of the iPlayer launch, and Nick Harkaway, screenwriter and novelist; author of The Gone-Away World and The Blind Giant:
How Human Connection Will Redeem the Digital Age. The host for the evening will be Matthew De Abaitua, author of Hackney science fiction novel The Red Men.
