Corazón

The block-party of Brazilian beats, Latin jazz, Afrobeat and other tropical disco treats known as Corazón returns to Floripa once again. Join DJs Nik Weston and Rob Coley as they dig deep into their vinyl stashes for an evening showcase of dancefloor orientated grooves from across Africa and the Americas, with some of London’s finest session musicians on hand to give the basslines a little extra oomph!

Nik Weston (Mukatsuku Records)
Since starting his first club night back in 1995, Nik Weston has held numerous residencies across London and has played in over 30 countries around the world. Over the last 12 years he has put out over 60 vinyl releases on Japanese, UK and European labels often with Latin, Brazilian and African influences.

Rob Coley (Soul-Identity Music)
DJ and promoter Rob Coley has been collecting records and DJing for over 15 years and since a move brought him to the capital in September 2001 he hasn’t looked back, promoting a number of events under the Soul-Identity Music banner. Rob’s passion for music spans hip-hop, soul, underground house, jazz and Afro Latin rhythms.

Once a month at Floripa the Corazón DJs invite musicians to join in the party aiming to complement the sound of vinyl with a unique live element whether it be steel pan, conga, bongo, timbales or a simple cowbell making it truly difficult not to dance.
