Visitors are being invited to explore and enjoy the magnificent Apsley House in Hyde Park, London, after hours throughout July and August.
Guests to Apsley House – the home to the Dukes of Wellington – will be able to see the house in twilight with curtains drawn and chandeliers twinkling. Throughout the evening there will be a series of fascinating talks on the Duke, his art collection and his home.
Apsley House is one of London’s most interesting attractions and includes nearly 3,000 of the Duke’s works of art. Amongst the treasures on view are paintings by Velazquez, Goya, and Lawrence plus a wonderful collection of silver and porcelain. You will also see some outstanding items associated with the Duke, including the sword he carried at Waterloo.
